We just started using the program this year and our RBI's are not coming out right. The only RBI's it shows are for home runs, and then only one RBI for the batter that hits it no matter how many are on base. I realize that we obviously need to enter RBI's manually for each batter when they happen, just having trouble figuring out how to do that. Also, how do I go back and edit the RBI's for the last three games so my season stats are correct?

What version of ScorePAD are you using, Palm or iPhone/iPod Touch?

Version 8 REL 5 2008 Desktop Version
In the desktop version you go to "Game Scoring View"---->edit---->runs. There you can select whether it is an RBI and/or earned run. On the palm go to the "Stats" section---->then to edit runs. Same as above you can select RBI and/or earned run. Hope this is what you were looking for.

that helps a little but how can I award the RBI's as your scoring the game? It doesn't make sense that there is not a easy way to do this on the spot instead of having to do this after the game is over. We're also having trouble getting stolen bases to show up.

I have not scored a game on my Palm this year (trying out the iPhone/iPod Touch version). If i remember correctly it did it automatically. I will enter a simulated game on my Palm to see how exactly it worked. I just started a qiuck game with on my Palm with a walk to batter #1 then a HR to batter #2, checked the edit runs under stats and both RBI boxes were checked automatically. As far as stolen bases go i did the same thing. Put batter #3 on base with a walk. Went to the batter #4 to start scoring. I then advanced batter #3 (now a runner) to second. Once you do that ScorePAD wants to know why the runner advanced. You then select steal from the dropdown list. I did notice that you do have to have a name entered in the lineup so ScorePAD knows who to assign the steal to.

thanks....unfortunately when we do home runs runs it only gives one RBI for the HR..eventhough 2 guys were on base.....also not giving RBI's on sac flies or base hits. Thanks a lot for trying though.

Quick question, is the problem occuring on the Palm or when you on when you score on the desktop version. If it is the desktop and if you are running Vista check the forum under the Vista section. I never was completely satisfied with how ScorePAD worked and even had some issues getting it to sync with Palm. Just something else to think about.

We are scoring on the palm and then using the desktop software to look at stats, post play by play and box scores on our website and then email that info to our local paper.
Check us out at owassobaseball.com
you will be able to see the box scores it is making and how RBI's are not being given. Also, it is a pretty good website. Especially if your a baseball fan.

Just looked at the desktop version and followed your instructions and let me see if I am getting this right....When you go to the Game scoring view and then to runs, when there is a check in the RBI box what you are saying is that that particular run was a Run Batted In, and the program should take care of who gets that RBI according to what has been scored in the game. Am I understanding this correctly?

Thanks for your help. I think I finally have our problem figured out. I figured out that the program had the wrong guy at bat when a run was scored and that's why they didn't give the RBI to the guy who hit the home run. Fixed that and it gave the correct player the RBI.

I realize most people, who post on here, are umpires and see a lot of crazy things. But how often does this really come up? For instance, this catcher's balk. If I understood this rule correctly, it can occur if the catcher is calling for an intentional walk but his feet are not in the catcher's box. In professional baseball, the first thing batters do is erase the lines for the box, so there really can't be such a call.
